I used to work for La Mer (owned and made by Estée Lauder) and I worked on the counter in a luxury store , I would be bored out of my face standing there for 7 or 8 hours a day and only speaking to maybe one or two clients. Some
Days not selling anything. My regular clients were usually Asian as they loved the skincare and for some Reason I think they believe the hype and story more than other people. All the samples that head office would send me would go missing when I was in my lunch break as the other women on other beauty counters would go through my counter draws and take my samples for their own use. That really annoyed me as customers use to walk by my counter without even saying hello and say “you got any samples”. I felt like saying “no all the people on other beauty counters have taken them all”. I use to be given the creme by my area manager usually when at conferences. I used it on my dry heels as it was too greasy for my face. And we use to tell clients to rub the creme between the fingers to release the miracle broth. In other words the creme was so thick and greasy you can not just straight apply it to the face. And the myth of rubbing it between the fingers is a total joke. By the time the products are made, shipped across the country in hot containers and stand on shelves for months maybe a year the products isn’t really very ‘miraculous or fresh” anymore. We use to laugh about it as you don’t have to rub the other skincare products between the fingers at all. So there is the real Tea for you all! The only reason I worked for La Mer was the amazing benefits of working at Estée Lauder as I would get huge discounts across the entire company such as Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Origins, Estée Lauder, Too Faced and many more brands they own. So there is the real TEA spilled for you.
