These crabs are small and have a strict requirement for their habitats. They can only live in non-polluted muddy water. Nevertheless, they have an amazing taste and can be eaten once deep-fried or made into a Jingpo dish – Pounded Crabs. I also made some Dai-style stuffed leaves with fish with these pounded crabs.
